Welcome!
Welcome to the official website of the 2007 Village Green - Mardi Paws, a Pet Sitters International's Take Your Dog To Work Day event.
‘What is TYDTWDay? It's simple. On Friday, June 22, 2007, pet sitters, animal shelters and businesses of all sizes will come together to recognize the great companions dogs make. PSI, along with Village Green Companies and others, will join pet lovers around the world to celebrate man's—and woman's—best friend.
This annual event, now in its ninth year, brings people and pets together in a special way on a special day. Dogs go to work. Hearts are touched. And as a result, homeless dogs will be adopted. ‘PSI's Take Your Dog To Work Day is the day for dogs.' (www.petsit.com)
Village Green has participated in this dog-gone fun event for 7 years now. Last year, we raised over $3000 and this year we hope to beat that amount with your help. A minimum donation of $25 is required if Village Green employees, at our Corporate and Regional Offices, wish to bring their Best Friend with them to work on that day. We are also selling tickets for our Raffle, having an Online Auction (open to the public) and if employees wish to enjoy lunch provided by The Outback Steakhouse, there will be a small donation for that too. All the money raised will benefit the homeless doggies of APB – The Animal Placement Bureau, located in Lansing, MI and will be used towards their medical expenses. (www.apbpets.com)
Check out our Dog Day Agenda so you will know when to watch the presentation by Jennifer Trombley of Gentle Paws Pet Message on one of our live web cams. See the Parade of Dog’s celebrate on Bourbon Street as beads are awarded and costumes are adorned. Vote for your favorite pooch online and winners will be decided by you, the online voters and you will decide who will receive the following awards:
- King of Mardi Paws
- Queen of Mardi Paws
- Best Mardi Paws Costume
- Funniest Mardi Paws Costume
This event is made possible by the many generous donations from local businesses and others. Please take some time to review our list of sponsors and consider them in the future.
Also, a big Thank You to Christian Flickinger who spends many hours each year putting together the Village Green Dog Day website. He is responsible for this entire interactive website which allows us to share our event with dog lovers across the country each year. You can contact him at cf@nexdot.net.
